Wicomico Public Libraries is committed to a future that embraces diversity, equity, and racial understanding that lives through our vision statement of giving respect to all individual differences. Wicomico Public Libraries are an equitable, diverse, and inclusive community resource that strives to meet the needs of all Wicomico County citizens regardless of: age, cultural background, disability, ethnicity, family status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, health, socioeconomic status and veteran status.

- We will continue to make technology accessible to help bridge the digital divide.
- We will continue to regularly evaluate our library programs and collections to ensure we are meeting our customers’ needs.
- We will continue to seek out diverse Board members to govern the Library.
- Our Mobile Services Department will evaluate their schedules regularly to ensure we are reaching customers who do not have library access.
- Our Marketing efforts will use a variety of mediums to reach library users. We will create Marketing materials that reflect the communities we serve.
- Our recruitment efforts will concentrate on recruiting qualified marginalized and underrepresented populations, so our library staff reflects the communities we serve.
- We will strive to diversify our Friends of the Library group to reflect the communities we serve.
- We will continue to train staff at all levels in the organization on topics of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
- We recognize Wicomico County's history of social injustices including racism and will commit to providing educational materials and programming addressing social justice.
